The Podiatric Physician Advocacy Program® offers podiatrists immediate access to their own legal defense team, led by experienced healthcare legal counsel and expert medical/legal reviews for members involving a range of actions, from state licensing investigations brought by the State Board of Medical Examiners (SBME), the Office of Civil Rights (HIPAA violations) and through to investigations by Medicare (CMS/OIG) and/or Medicaid (OMIG).

~Scope of Plan Coverage~
  • No limit as to the number of telephone conferences with legal counsel concerning matters within the scope of the program.
  • All in-person conferences with an attorney related to matters within the scope of the PAP will also be without cost to the enrolled physician.
  • Full range of legal services (telephone consultations, written communication, preliminary hearings, interviews, settlement conferences, hearings, etc.) through all investigative stages of a disciplinary action.
